The day when Emma was gonna celebrate Midsummer came. 21st June. When she arrived in Visby, she remembered everything she had in the back of her mind for exactly this time of the year, because she wasn't just gonna celebrate Midsummer but she was gonna stay the whole season so she could attend a Swedish course. A big dream of her.

She woke up early and ate breakfast in the balcony with some of her classmates that she had met the night before. They were having a good time, having a big breakfast on a table following the Swedish style. After breakfast, Emma rented a bike to check out the city. It was so early that there was barely anyone on the streets. She sat at a cozy little café by the main square to catch up on her summer reading while there still was uteservering.

Emma was so focused on her reading that she did not hear a deep voice that suddenly came exactly from the back side of her book. A guy that also was sitting outside decided to talk to her when he saw that she was reading such a good book (to his taste). "People do not usually like him. He is a very difficult author to understand although I consider him one of the best authors in Sweden!" said Erik smiling.

Erik wasn't from Visby but he thought it was a cosy city to spend a weekend in. Why he chose the Midsummer weekend he had no idea. He just followed his thoughts this time.

Erik was a 24 year guy whose dream was to live in Stockholm even though he had lived all his life outside of Stockholm. He loved to read sci-fi books with a lot of chai tea while it rained and his cat meowed looking through the window.

What Emma was surprised about was not that a Swedish guy dared to talk to her but that he had such a nice face: pale skin, sad eyes that lighted up slightly when he looks at you, a goatee of 2-3 days and a smile that did not seem to be showed often but when it did, it made you feel comfortable. His blue eyes gave an impression that he tried to read one's soul directly. At the same time those sad eyes gave him a mysterious appearance that attracted anyone to want to get to know him.

During a short while she thought that it was a character from the book who started talking to her in her head. She got a bit nervous when she noticed that there was indeed a guy in front of her. ”What an attractive voice he has", she thought, ”It's like those from audiobooks!" Then she suspected that Erik was still waiting for an answer that she hadn't yet given.

"It is the first book I read of his. So far it's been very hard to understand some expressions and descriptions that he wrote. Swedish is not that easy, especially adverbs!" That got him smiling on some bold way and to just go ahead and sit in the chair beside her. They talked a lot for more than one hour, about the book and anything from what they both were doing in the city to their biggest dreams and secrets that no one else knew, just them. It was almost as if they had met before. To be continued...
